i havent tried the jb jr (obviously) but the hot rails definitely wants to see 500k pots

the 470k resistor is to simulate a 250k pot for the single coil, that isnt your issue. if you check the dc resistance at the jack, do you get normal readings for each position?

that angus pup was pretty bright and thin from what i recall, sounded good into a nmv marshall cranked up though

i very much disagree. i hear a quite noticeable difference between say a2 and a5. even uoa5 and a2. does the difference matter to an audience? of course not, but its enough for me to swap back to what i like.

i have a freeway 10 way switch in my hss orpheo superstrat, works great. when in the down positions, it its all single coil selections. in the up positions its bridge humbucker in series and four other combinations of coils. i find most of them very useful...

is the concept jb that much different? i thought it was a cs jb with a2

right, you could add the split wire to the current pup if you wanted, thats probably what i would do

id use the switch to put the jb in parallel

i think thatll be a great set with 250k pots. if the bridge pup is a little too dull/dark remove the tone control from it
