I have a stacked Duncan single. One of the coil is dead. Other serves well. But i want to know which one still operates well, which one is dead. From humbuckers red&green is the south coil, black&white is the north. Now, which colors are for the top coil and the bottom coil?

May i ask you a question before trying more serious. Have you ever tried to turn the tone knob down a bit?

I havent tried them on the same guitar. If i understand it right, i think Custom 5 has a little bit bolder on the lows and i think i always felt Custom 5 more scooped feel then the full shred.

So you claim that tone wood matters? How dare you? All the tone comes from the pickups. :) Just kidding :) I know what you mean ;)

That's the opposite of me :) I like it on the neck. It has clarity and i really like it how it reacts to fast picking. Also it can really mimic the paf sounds. But in the bridge, i generally prefer pickups have more inductance than 5H's.
