I got an Artist 1x15 quite a while back off Craigslist for next to nothing . Grabbed 4 old 6L6 power tubes out of it that still sound good. The black widow speaker is an interesting one. Quite loud.

Dd a of y'all use one of these speakers back in the day?

I used to have a few Black Widow 12's...sort of a poor mans EV in ways but a little extra top sort of like a JBL.

Never really impressed with them long term but they can be alright for somethings.

Yes sir, I had Black Widow 12's in a 4x12 Peavey cabinet back in the day. You really have to make sure you are running the guitar speakers, and not the much more common sound reinforcement models, which are aweful for guitar.

The "Scorpions" are much more common, but even them most of them are PA speakers and not guitar speakers-different model.

I don't think the 15's were ever much good for guitar. I think some of the pedal steel guys used them, but not too sure.

The old 12" Black Widows ( the GUITAR speakers , no sound reinforcement) had a wicked sound, what was a lot different , and not as refined as a Celestion, but real cool in a dirty way. Ive been looking to put a BW cabinet together to recreate that.
