Well, here it is kids! My latest member of the family!

Running my newest toy. A 67 Supro Taurus, built buy Valco. The amp has a couple tweaks for both more gain and bottom. The cab is loaded with a mid 60s Jensen C12R and an early 70s CTS 15 inch in a closed back set up. This cab is now heavy in the low mids and early breakup, a cool flavor.... I was not into the C12N speakers that were in the cab, just a lil too clean and bright for me..

The Hamer has a very low output, weakened A5, HighOrder PAF style pickup. The guitar has a lot of guts, so low output seems to be the way to go with it.

I am using a Weber Mass with the amp, and just used the mic on my JVC Everio cam. Nothing fancy... Love the amp and feel very lucky to have found one as clean as this one is.

I just picked up Sarif MoviePlus X3 this week, so this is my 1st stab with the software. Dig it a lot. Not seeking a hi def look, I want it to look like a shizzy TV from the 70s...

man, you manage to get a phat sound but with some bite to it. I can never get that

That is where the magic of a big ol 15 comes in. It made all the difference in what was a pretty thin sounding cab. I prefer open backs these days, but cannot bring myself to cut open the Supro cab. As a trend however, I have really moved away from overly bright sounding set ups. Jeff Beck's, Ice Cream Cakes has pretty much my favorite guitar tone on it. A little murky, very loose, and very warm. The Supro has that vibe now..

Ive never been a big fan of bright, but I find a lot of time I lose the edge in the mix.

I love how clean your sound is, even with distortion.

Rid is right, it has great bite.

Totally love it, Kev! It's got a very chewy tone. Guess I'll have to check out that Jeff Beck album now.

Thanks much fellas!

The full raunch of that it through a pretty small 2/12 cab brings a big smile to me. It was so freakin polite and dare I say wimpy when I got it. The cool thing with it is how fast she cleans up when you roll back on the guitar. With a Tele the Page vibe is really there. That Supro has a cluck to it that compliments a Tele perfectly. My Valco Ward's head does the same thing..
