I did take the pickguard off and I couldn't tell what kind of wood it is..... I have a feeling it's basswood? I put one of the screws back o when I put the cover back on and accidentally over tightened it.... Nothing major, but I wasn't even applying a lot of force. So I have a feeling it's basswood, b/c basswood has that tendency to do that cause of its softness.
I thought I had a Floyd rose around here but my bud had a "fast loader" or "speedloader" (or whatever you call it hahaha) that I'm gonna but from. Can't wait to drop it in!

I'm proud to say I have a Flying V. She's a beauty. Finally got my dream guitar. Always wanted one!

not bad... by the way does anyone have any add'l info on that bridge? I have a trem off an older epi v that almost looks like the pics I've seen of a "bennder" but has a sliding lock on the top of the base plate that covers the strings in the trem block. fine tuners are smoked, but works well in the axe I have it in.oh yeah, it's marked Gotoh, but no help w/that search.

Totally. Chrome hardware and mirror guard on black V=tits.
I kinda lost my taste for black hardware a few years back. The 'murdered out' look feels dated and cheesy, to me.

Ooooooooooooooooooo that sound mighty nice! But that has to wait unfortunately.... Just realized I'm broke now hahaha. But the black "top hat" knobs have to go. I don't like 'em very much. But I'll probably get some chrome knobs though now. That'll look nice.
