I have loosened the springs and still the wammy is too stiff.????

Loosen them more
Go down a string gauge

Also check the whammy with the string detached fully to see whether there is any resistance in the mechanism.

Topmount, dive only no recess right?

Loosen or decrease spring count until strings pull it up from body, then tighten back.... could be floored with a ton of excess tension for all you know if it sits on the body

Or get lighter tension springs, you should be able to get some from floydrose.com or fu-tone.com

Yep, assuming that the bridge is moving smoothly through its rotation and not binding at the posts/knife edges, sounds like a spring tension issue. Either too many springs, spring placement (\|/ vs ||| vs ||/, etc) and/or the springs are simply too tight.

Try removing a single spring or, as Devastone said, seek out lighter tension springs.

Also, what size strings are you using?
