don't let the squire name scare you off, this is a terrific bass, I've gigged with it and alot of my friends prefer this particular bass.
P Bass Squier/Fender Creamy White w/ tortoise pickguard Serial #NC768974 (China) I put the Tortoise pick guard $20.00. I always wanted a white bass, the neck is darker and no skunk stripes down the back of the neck like the other Squire Bass. Also the neck is dated Sept 1998. (4 string) used (Miscellaneous Chinese serials: CD, CT, CJ, NC: C = China, the first number following the serial number prefix is the year. Probably made Yako (Taiwan).) Some Squier made in China and Asian markets are made by Axl in China. In the early 1980’s Fender’s European agents for a cheaper models to compete with Japanese imports resulted in the birth of the “Squier”. The name came from a string making company, “V.C. Squier” of Michigan, that Fender ad acquired in 1965. Victor Carroll Squier was born in the 19th century Boston, the son of an English immigrant, and became a violin maker, moving to Battle Creek, Michigan. Where he founded his own shop with Gus Crawford in 1890 and found the way 1927-1972. When Fender bought out Squier Strings a few employee employee splintered of to form GHS Strings. This bass come from a smoke free home the bass has a few scratches and stray marks but it is a solid bass. The neck is straight and the frets are in good shape too. I have the original boxes that the SD hand wound and signed P/U’s came in and will ship them to with any other info this bass. The case is as good as new (mint) shape, with key. All sales final no returns or refunds; I accept Paypal and would highly suggest getting the insurance but it is optional.
