Hey dude (and you know who I'm talking to), I've got a deal for you...I'll send you a humbucker SIGNED by EDWARD VAN HALEN himself for only $800!!! That signature is the extra mojo you need to get a true Brown Sound!! Or, even better, I'll get you EVH's #1 guitar!!! Just send me a check or money order for $50,000, and it's yours!!! Free shipping!!! Let's be honest...you won't ever really make any good music without this stuff. I can make it happen for you!!! You'll get the gear immediately after your check or money order clears.

People everywhere will call you Eddie Van Halen II!!!!!

Personally, don't know who you are talking too or what you are talking about!

But, one can get a hand signed relic PUP for around $400..
and EVH had and has no No.1 guitar..! nor a No. 1 pickup!

He did not even use the SD rewind PUP that much nor the guitars he was endorsing back in the early days!

But I bet there are a lot of suckers that will jump at your offer! Like they did in their golden shower days..

Re: 1st Seymour Duncan Humbucker?

Yeah, That pup starting in 78 would have been a best seller...
It could have been marketed as Eruption 78, back then....or whatever...
Both the JB and the 78 EVH were Gibson PAF rewinds..
What were the differences...number of winds? and wire used?

Just because something would have sold doesn't mean that it WAS sold. Again you are using your view if the present to interpret the past.

Th JB and 78 have different types AND number of winds they are completely different beasts. Additionally they were not exclusively wound on PAF bobbins. They were wound on any bobbins. Pat # and T-tops were used as well, probably more of them than the others were wound I'll bet.
