Hi,

Can somebody please help me with the following wiring idea?

I have a guitar with 2 HB, 1 vol, 1 tone and 2 mini toggle switches.

I would like to wire it up as follows:

One toggle to allow both pickups to be switched between north coil/humbucker/south coil

One toggle to allow neck+bridge in either series or parallel.

I can figure out how to wire the switches independently both I can't figure how to wire them together.

Cheers

This should do it. You will have to adapt it to your switching wheter 3 way toggle or other. Now if you are saying you want to switch between screw and slug coils on each pickup independently, I believe you will need one more DPDT mini toggle or push pull pot or drop one of the other options to acheive this. This is shown with two push pull pots.

Thanks Hermetico, I forgot about the on / off / on switch.

Snootles, there are some other options if you are not using a 3 position toggle and have a blade type switch slot. These options allow use of series, parallel and splits without affecting other functions.

Thanks for all that.

Multicaster, I am actually using a 5way strat selector switch. I have a middle pickup but I don't think i will wire it up as it's not very good. what else could I do without any more switches?

Thanks again for both your help.

if it's routed for it, you could always throw a phatcat in the middle:naughty:
edit: actually, if you were to use a push pull for the on-off toggle, and you had room for another potentiometer, you could have another volume pot for the phatcat hooked up(to output? i'unno hermetico could figure it out, he's skilled:)), and have a 3 way switch for the humbuckers. then, you could just add a bit of phatcat flavor to whatever setting you have the humbuckers setup with using the dedicated volume.
