2 PEDAL CHALLENGE

Can you elaborate on your experience on this? Curious

Sure: it is a parallel loop that doesn't do 100% wet no matter how hard you try. If you put a tuner with a mute function in there you'll still hear significant amounts of signal slipping through. This causes trouble for most modulation-based effects, with phasers sounding particularly anemic in my experience. Another matter is that I was using the G-System when I had my last JVM. The G-System is quite demanding when it comes to what it is to be combined with, and an impedance mismatch between amp and unit caused a significant drop in volume when it was engaged in the loop. I solved this by adding a buffer with a booster function that, as it happens, was not necessary.

On the Satch, the parallel loop has been replaced by a series loop, and instead of a wet-dry knob you have a built-in buffer on a series loop. Whether I'll be using the G-System and the amp much together remains to be seen (I've been enjoying the convenience of the HX Effects recently), but as far as my old rig went, it was a near-perfect solution to the problems I had been having with the original. I wish that they would make this standard on all new JVMs

Thanks, makes sense, I've never liked parallel loops unless there was a series switch and a clean blend function.

I would probably run my MT-2 and Keeley Katana into my Spidervalve half stack. No control board for the amp. Just straight into one of the amp models. Probably the blue "Twang" model with a little plate reverb.

Sorry, a Les Paul is not worship approved.

Excuse me? A righteous flame top 59 with Pearly Gates type PAF's is not worship approved....then again, false God. I'd worship the holy grail tones and looks! OK - I get it.

I only use a Gibson Les Paul Standard for getting some church on. But then, I won't go to a church unless sinners are allowed.

Boss TU-3 and the footswitch for my Bogner Twin Jet, and I'm covered. If the amp's footswitch doesn't count against my two pedals, I'll go ahead and bring my Ghoul Screamer just in case I find myself wanting a boost.

You may be the first one to mention a tuner lol

A Boss BF-3 in the front of my Orange amp and a DD-3 in the loop. The DD-3 actually sounds awesome in front of the amp as well.
