2 Single conductor pickups, 1 volume

Hi folks,

I'm looking for some help with wiring up my guitar. I have 2 Seymour Duncan '59 pickups, and I'm putting them into a strat.

I have 1 volume an 2 tone controls. I can't seem to find a schematic for this setup anywhere. I have found this:

http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=2h_1v_2t_3w

Which is the setup but wrong pickups, on mine there is only the inner wire and the outer sheath.

Then I found this:

http://www.seymourduncan.com/images/schematics/501005-110.pdf

Which is the right pickups, but it has 2 volume controls.

I'm afraid I don't know enough about wiring to figure out a combination for the two. :oo

Thanks :)

You could use the first diagram you linked.

Your inner wire would be the black wire in the diagram, and your outer sheath would be bare/green. The red and white are already soldered together inside your pickups.

Re: 2 Single conductor pickups, 1 volume

Your first diagram is the correct one. Just ignore the red and white wires in that diagram (your pups don't have the red and white wires, but they are already connected within your pups, under the black tape).

Thanks everyone, that's a great help :)

I just hope I don't make a balls of soldering it now :)

Just remember..."meat follows heat". Meaning, heat the metal with your iron and let the solder ("meat") flow to the heat. The solder should be thin like water, not a fat ball.
