2 vol 1 tone schematic needed!

Gday all.

Would like to know how to wire up a Les Paul for 2 seperate volumes and a master tone, doing away with the toggle switch. Anyone have a schematic for this?

Cheers, Larry :arms:

Hey Larry; Just use this:

http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/schematics/2hum_2vol_tone-w-3way.html

Now make one simple mod: see the two light-gray wires tha come off the volume controls, and the darker gray wire that comes from the tone, all leading to the 3-way. Just tie all those together and leave out the 3-way. You'll probably want to run the two wires from the volume over to where the gray wire comes off the tone.

Thanks artie. Will i be able to have one pickup on full and one completely off? That was my main worry, and i think i had a problem with this issue last time i tried!

With the bass schematic you can put off one pup but still use the other but it would sound different at low volume setting than a normal wiring...

I wired the neck pup this way and the bridge the normal way but i have the problem if I switch too neck and have the volume on 0 the bridge blends thru...

SO.....

If i wire it up jazz bass stylee, WILL I BE ABLE TO TURN ONE PICKUP COMPLETELY OFF?

Sorry, just need to make absolutely sure!

Cheers, larry

yes!

the difference is:
normal wiring: the middle of the pot goes to output
jazz bass wiring: the pups hot goes to the middle of the pot

so simply out and pups hot are just switched... on normal wiring one volume on zero means that the output is shorten, no signal could pass... on jazz bass wiring just the pup is shorten...

but volume rolled back suck tone (coz of the higher load which is damping the resonant peak) on this setup ... I don't know if it work with a treble bleed cap

but wait until Artie clarify this I'm too tired and talking BS maybe ;)

You guys need to have more faith in yourself. You said it perfectly. ;)

I'll only add that even though Hamer wiring includes the switch, I've grown to really like the V/ V/ T setup, as it provides a lot of variety in the mid position.

Ok i wired this up exactly how the jazz bass schematic is wired (nearly 100% sure!)

Works fine, but the volume controls work backwards to normal.

How do i solve this?
