Well.. so far, to my ears.. a 412 seemed to have more "air" push type of tone. They resonate more, but a 212 seemed to have "better" tighter bass and better mids. 412s seemed to have more highs then 212 but the 212 still has enough highs to cover a range.Biu said:I don't wanna seem stupid, but what are the tonal differences between a 2x12 and a 4x12? I've heard of a lot of guys that just use a Genz Benz 2x12 and they like it a lot more than a 4x12.
Hey Duke what type of Music do you play with it ...Duke of Metal said:To be honest.. I've tried a whole bunch of speakers and I gotta say, my favorite is the Celestion Classic Lead 80. The sound is very tight, clean (even with highgain), highs dont cut your head and thick sounding overall.
Speakers I've tried:
Celestion 75s
Celestion 25s (Old Black Backs)
V30s
Green Backs
G12H80s
and some other speakers that I dont remember..
oh.. and I use the Classic Lead 80s in my 2x12 cab and the sound is very tight and clean and to be honest, I think its even louder then the 412 Marshall I use at the studio at rehearsal.
If you get the Classic lead 80s and dont like them, you can always re-sell them. Alot of people seem to like them.
good luck,
Duke
Well.. in a band, I do all covers that range from Rock, HardRock, Classic Rock. But on my own time, I write my own stuff which are sorta hardrock, heavy metal.y2stevo said:Hey Duke what type of Music do you play with it ...
