2001 Am St Tele 3TSB rescue

My cousin left his 2001 American Standard Tele in a shed over at the shop.

he had it wrapped in cellophane wrap
i told him that the humidithumidthat shed here in the southern US , probably wasnt good at all for it.
And i would happily give it a place to hang out among my collection.

So i got it and the Marin Sigma acoustic that was also wrapped in clear cellophane.

Well, looks a little rough. Will it clean up OK?

New strings
And a good scrub

Neck has a bit of bow
but the truss rod should sort that out

I think it should be ok

The Sigma may be different

wide classical neck and steel strings
sound board looks to be still flat

We will see

Those were great Teles. I gigged with one for 6-7 years. Never should have sold it off. Very even sounding and recorded well.

If the chrome won't shine up, it is pretty cheap to replace.

The chrome should be easy to bring back, one of the reasons why I like nickel. I like the aged metal look on hardware. Chrome is designed to polish back up unless it is severely damaged.

I may put strings on it and clean it
but if it has real damage , it really does belong to my cousin and he will have to make that call
