2006 Les Paul Menace

They couldn't make the lower half of the pickguard follow the body line? It hurts.

It also looks to me like the bridge humbucker is screwed into the pickguard, which means you'd have to take the whole thing off to change it, which, yikes.

Ha!!! "Puma attack"! Ha!!!

That's old school weight relief! They needed to cut some corners on production costs!

I like how they call it "weight relief" and not just "lightening."

Like you are supposed to suffer some weight related discomfort just because it's a Gibson. It's an expected sacrifice for tone.

I've looked hard at the menace a few times over the years, as a kind of different, kind of metal looking inexpensive alternative to an LP standard.... If the pickups weren't so dang ugly I may own one.

I think I'm much happier with the BFG and tribute and LPJs than that one. Glad I didn't pull the trigger.

I wouldn't mind it if the pickups were solid black bobbins. Or chrome/nickel covers.

The fretboard looks super pale and sickly as well.

Is it baked Maple?

I feel like people have picked on every detail of that instrument except the obvious ones: the fretboard looks bad and block inlays only at the 5th and 12th frets neither harken back to Gibson heritage, nor are a reversal of a traditional explorer design. On top of that it's honestly the worst inlays I've seen on a factory instrument

BFG/LP Lite hybrid needs to be a thing. The yin to the Custom's Yang.
