Re: 2011 Les Paul 57' RI Spec Sheet
I actually hadn't bought it when I posted this....I was just thinking about it, considering it and I wanted to know more about it first. I've since gone ahead and bought it. I was really just looking at Gold Tops, because I had an R7 that I had to sell back in 07', and I've always regretted it. I was browsing adds and came across this one. Pelham blue was the last color on my mind, as I normally don't care for solid color guitars unless they're Gold Tops.
I showed this to my wife and she immediately said...."OMG, you HAVE to buy that". I really didn't want to spend the $$$ right now, but my wife had received a small windfall from an auto accident she was in, and she wanted me to use that money for this and I'll replace her money later. I thought that was sweet of her. She is pretty good to me.
I'd never seen an R7 in Pelham blue before but as I searched the net all I really came up with was one or two prior Reverb sales. The VOS finish and the aged cream plastic, along with the aged hardware really stood out to me as very unique and beautiful, even though I'd never given the color a 2nd thought. It will be a very unique guitar and one not many people have. I could have bought a sweet flame top for the same $$, but there will always be nice flame tops available. This was something different.
Joe, I couldn't find anything in my Google searches about it being a Wildwood guitar. Just this morning the seller sent me a note saying he thinks he has the original spec sheet from when he bought it. He's going to find it and send it to my email. He said he thinks it was a run from Music Zoo where he bought it, but couldn't remember if that was it. He did say he knew it was from a special run.
It will be here next week, and I'm excited for it to arrive. It has a natural back, but the stain is slightly darker than the normal natural, like a light bourbon. I'll give a full report and pics when it gets here. Oh, and no need to upgrade hardware on this one... it comes with an ABR-1 and aluminum tail piece already. And if the pickups are like Joe says, those might just stay too!
