my guitar is a 89' dean cadillac and it haves a jb and a 59 so i wired them with 2 volumes a tone and the three way but when i put the switch in the middle and turn one volume down the guitar stops sounding just as each volume is working like a master volume???? i used the diagram from seymour duncan the 2 humbucker, 2 vol, 1 tone , 3 way...i also wanted to know if there is a way to make a single conductor humbucker coil tap with a switch???

Can you link to the diagram you used?

And for question 2, you can't split a single conductor.

Thats normal for a dual-volume guitar. You can do a "fix" by reversing the two wires on the volume pots that aren't ground. (Leave ground where it is. Reverse the other two.)

We just did another thread on this somewhere. Search for "50's mod" or "50's wiring".

If I find it first, I'll post the link.

With two volume controls, some people like the master volume wiring, others like the independent wiring. Master seems to be the standard in most guitars nowadays.
