36 frets?! WTF?!

Re: 36 frets?! WTF?!

I'm glad I'm so technically obsessed with playing to the point where I don't care if my guitar looks that fugly

Re: 36 frets?! WTF?!

I wonder how high that guitar will go... I mean it's an expensive guitar but it's very unconventional looking and it's not doing too hot already... $200 4 days into the auction... yikes...

Re: 36 frets?! WTF?!

i really like those. almost bought one on ebay a while ago. i figured it was just a phase i was going through. wasn't! i still like it! but i've outgrown thinking i'd be able to actually do anything with frets over 26 or so.

Re: 36 frets?! WTF?!

mayzan used to post here a lot

i'm pretty sure i remember telling him what a bad idea it was to buy this thing

if not then...well...whatever i'm gona play my les paul

Re: 36 frets?! WTF?!

whatever i'm gona play my les paul

ditto
yeah I posted in this thread and then went and messed around on my agile for almost 2 hours. I feel better now, much better. That 36 fret thing can't hurt me with it's ugliness anymore

Re: 36 frets?! WTF?!

i've seen pics of custom ergonomic guitars, i've just never seen an electric guitar with that many frets before, it shocked me. i find myself interested in it, and i'd only use about 20 of them

it reminds me a little of those roswells jackson made.

Re: 36 frets?! WTF?!

How about 40 frets?

Re: 36 frets?! WTF?!

I've heard one or two of those played.. and it sounds hideous. The regular 24 frets sound alright but.. well.. guitar amps just don't actually sound pleasant above that octave, its like bees flying in your ears, stinging your brain.

Or worse: violins.

Re: 36 frets?! WTF?!

people are doing it all wrong man, we dont need more high frets, just more low frets!

BRING ON THE STONER RIFFS.

Re: 36 frets?! WTF?!

Wahburn did a 36 fret guitar back in the 80's which looked like a superstrat even had a hand hold.

Re: 36 frets?! WTF?!

Seen these before on sevenstring.org, so no shock to me.
Couldn't see myself using more than 27 frets, ever, but eh 24 frets and 7 strings suits me fine. Prefer to have that lower extra range than more upper range.
I guess heaps of frets and 7 strings is cool if you're doing the Uli Jon Roth thing where you might be playing violin pieces, but I definitely can't play that well haha.
