4 Conductor Antiquity Humbucker

Re: 4 Conductor Antiquity Humbucker

So a "Custom Shop 4 Conductor Humbucker wound to Antiquity Specs and aged cosmetics" is allowed, but it arrives in a CS box rather than Antiquity box with signature, etc?

I don't know if they will age it. The Antiquity is a formula that they won't mess with. You can try to push the Custom Shop to see how close they will get you though.

Re: 4 Conductor Antiquity Humbucker

Maybe I just go for 4-conductor Seth Lover and replace the cover with an aged one.

OR... Just go with "new" cosmetics across the board.

I'm brainstorming on how to combine an Antiquity humbucker with Antiquity singles and keep noise cancelling on combo positions.

Re: 4 Conductor Antiquity Humbucker

make it 4 cond, its really not that hard you just need to be careful.

tell me more! what singles? neck or bridge bucker? what guitar?

How are your soldering skills? If you feel fairly comfortable putting a wiring harness together, it's not any harder than that. It's almost as standard as changing a mag really.

That said, just make sure to study on which coil leads need to be wired on the 4 conductor. I know Seymour Duncan had something on the old site. You can probably find something floating around that will let you know.

Two ideas...
Antiquity HB in a Strat Bridge with Texas Hot middle and neck
And Micawber style Tele, with either a CS 53 Tapped, Antiquity Tele Bridge or possibly BG1400 bridge.

The Micawber style Tele and P-Rails project from the other thread have been running around my head for a few years now...

I have confidence in my knowledge, less in my execution. Maybe I should try it with another (cheaper ;)) pickup first.

Re: 4 Conductor Antiquity Humbucker

^ Lol. If I can do it, you should be fine haha. Should be easier in an antiquity anyhow, you don't have to clean up wax or reheat it.

I like the tele idea if you're heading towards an antiquity neck humbucker/tele bridge.

The Texas hots sound best with 250k pots and the Antiquities sound best with 500k. An Antiquity JB would actually be a better fit for this scheme IMO.

Re: 4 Conductor Antiquity Humbucker

i bet an antiquity neck humbucker in the bridge would sound fine with 250k pots

Re: 4 Conductor Antiquity Humbucker

Antiquites cannot be sold as 4 conductor humbuckers.

I think you can get them from Seymour Duncan's custom shop. Apparently Sweetwater stocks them. I don't know if they have two versions or what but they have it listed two different ways with two different prices.

Re: 4 Conductor Antiquity Humbucker

at $320 per set, those are custom shop pups that sweetwater orders that way.

This was old info I posted. Now they can be ordered that way.
