Electrically it's correct. If you actually have 4 ohm speakers around I say go for it!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll do it then. I have a 4x12" that I wish to re-wire that way and I also have a buddy with a heavenly, unmarked (the speakers as well, no label) 4x10" cab that measures 2.6-something ohms / should be 4 ohms impedance / per speaker. He wants to use it with his new Laney Cub head (nasty little beast) and on my part I will have an another option to record a certain 8/16 ohm only amp with the new wiring on my old cab.
