490R & 498T

If I routed out my Strat and got a new pickguard that could fit Gibson's 490R & 498T pickups in it, would the pickups align correctly with the strings and all that cool stuff?

Re: 490R & 498T

I believe the 498T actually has widened pole spacing, so you'll probably be alright. Or alright enough that you won't care.

On a side note, most everyone who has had a set of the 490R and 498T has complained about them.

The only guitar I've ever had luck using them was an Explorer. Terrible in a Les Paul. Can't say anything about a strat.

Re: 490R & 498T

REALLY long story short I wanna order a Strat with a mahoghany body to put the 490R & 498T pickups in. Wouldn't that sound good? Kind of like an SG? At least that's what I'm going for. I'm going for that Angus Young kind of sound without his pickup. Haha.

Is that what you're looking for, you'll be in for disappointment...

HTH,

Don't listen to the nay-sayers. You'll never know unless you try it.
