5150 clean channel low in volume...

Is it normal that when i engage crunch button the volume drastically changes from clean? I would say almost 2x.

Yes, this is normal on all the 5150s except for the 5153 100 watt.

Well on my 5150 III 50 watt, the volume jump doesn't seem that noticeable if you have the clean gain set at 2:00

Why are you guys lumping the 5150III in with the 5150 and 5150II? They're completely different amp designs and from different companies.

For the Peavey 5150, this is totally normal. Keep in mind that it's not even a clean channel, but a "rhythm" channel.

Yea that's normal on the EVH 5150 III. But I read somewhere that there is a mod of some sort where you can fix that and not have such a big jump I volume.

+1. I try to point that out too when I can. The 5150/6505 doesn't have a "clean" channel.
