Re: 5150 No Sounding Coming From The Amp?!!?

No sound at all sounds strange! Even with the POST controlls on my 5150 all the way off there is still a little volume coming thru the amp.....

Just by chance--- you know how the controll lay out works on a 5150 right? Pre amp is pre Gain and POST controlls are your Volumes......

Re: 5150 No Sounding Coming From The Amp?!!?

Yeah, watch those controls. They can be confusing. I'm about to admit something. I had a problem like this back some years ago before a gig and came to realize that I forgot to turn my wireless transmitter on. :smack: :D Talk about feeling like an ass. It was a good laugh though and helped me loosen up before going on.

Re: 5150 No Sounding Coming From The Amp?!!?

We'll have to change your name to 'With NO Distortion!' hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Turn the amp off, pull all the tubes out, and put them all back in.
Make sure everything is plugged up right. Wiggle the input jack. It's possible that the input or speaker jack is shorting out. Or a dead tube is killing the signal.

Re: 5150 No Sounding Coming From The Amp?!!?

Did you try a different speaker cable? That problem happened to me before or you could try contact cleaner in all the jacks of the amp and cab.

got ya beat on that one.... I was playing in a Talent contest in front of record companies, radio and tv people, and artists..... The tech helped me get set up and for got to tell me that my cord was not plugged all the way into the amp... it was just sitting in the opening.... then as we got playing already looking like fools my OD was not working when i stepped on it for my solo..... then the drummer flipped his kit over mid song...

Oh geez....LOL. See, even though I may have someone help me, I never trust that everything is hooked up right and always check every connection myself. Apparently I needed someone that time to remind me to turn the transmitter on....LOL.

GJ....you are too funny, man....LMAO!!!!!

Just pull them up and they come out. The big ones are power tubes they may have metal cap things that hold them in, just pull the cap so its not on the tube then pull it out. The little ones are preamp tubes those ones might be inclosed by a metal cylinder. You just push down and turn to get the casing to come off then you can pull the tube out.

Re: 5150 No Sounding Coming From The Amp?!!?

do you used the right speaker output? just a test...
I always start to check the simple faults! so you checkedd all cables?

Re: 5150 No Sounding Coming From The Amp?!!?

****ING HAILS GUYS
This **** is ****ing LOUD
the neighboors will not allow me with this ABUSIVE WALL OF SOUND
ahahahahah i´ll have to watch out the output or isolate the room. ahaha whatever
i played it on 3.. and it is ****ing LOUD.
but the more you open the sound, i believe, the more it gets heavy and crunchy.
BUT... i guess i´ll need a pedla to smooth up things a little..
and the EMGs with this amp KINDA amplify the rawness.
i´ll comment more LATER, because i didn´t have a 100% propper Test on this amp. i need to crank this at least in volume 4. ahahahah i guess.
and that will only be avaliable at rehearsal room.
the vocalist will desapear, and so the rest of the band
ahaahahahahhaha
it gave me some dizzyness and head ache
ahahah DAMN
UNHOLY 5150
AAHAHAH

Re: 5150 No Sounding Coming From The Amp?!!?

So that means it's working?
Glad you got a good amp! Now get a good od and you will have unholy crunch! ;)

Re: 5150 No Sounding Coming From The Amp?!!?

sounds good! what was wrong?
This reminds me on the first time I played a big tube amp (dual rectifier) and it sounded very raw in the first moment... but it's like live music compared to recorded one.. the good quality of the sound on the first time is just too much for the ears ;)
I will never forget this day!

Re: 5150 No Sounding Coming From The Amp?!!?

Hhahahahaah i definitely NEED to play again and with other settings and guitars and ALSO tweak it a little
I´m affraid that i will have to use some pickups with A little little little little reduced, or SMOOTH Middles.
cause this amp has LOTS of mids.
aahahahahahahahahah
I[m still ****ing dizzy
i´m gonna be off now
kinda dizzy
i got my tylenol to cure my headache
but the dizzyness didn´t pass
gonna rest a little
:(
AHAHAHA

Re: 5150 No Sounding Coming From The Amp?!!?

So you're not telling us what you did or didn't do? Keeping it a secret....LOL

Forgot to plug in a speaker cable from your amp to your cab? ;o)

Re: 5150 No Sounding Coming From The Amp?!!?

Ya how did you get the sound to work? God knows i had to play with my Classic 50 head for ages to figure out how to get sound out of it! I had set it up all wrong! We have all done things so let us know whats up....

PS-The 5150 is one hell of a wall of sound! When i used to use that at band practice the cops would end up at the place telling us to turn down..... Even when i used that amp in a parking lot of the Home Depot for a Canada festival HD put on we had the cops show up to turn us down/off.... the cops said they had calls from 2-3 blocks away from the Home Depot.... I was not even mic'ed! The manager of the store hid as people from the houses in the area came to the store to complain! A lawyer from a across the street said he would sue... Crazy!
