5150 out of storage question

i have a 5150 head that has been sitting un-used for almost 2 years to the date..... I have a new band practice tomorrow..... after sitting that long un-used should i fire it up and leave it on for a long time before hitting the standby? or should it work just like the day i left it...

The cab has not been used either for more then 2 years... I use a smaller Marshall cab instead of the 5150 4x12 as it fits in my new Camry easier... all my high volume stuff has been sitting as i didn't really need it in the house... But it comes in handy for playing in a band!!! it'll be great blowing the dust off the stuff!

Re: 5150 out of storage question

Definitely might want to give it a checkout before you get to the practice and have a problem.

Re: 5150 out of storage question

my 2 cents: play it at low volumes for a bit and gradually turn it up louder. that way things dont get really hot

Re: 5150 out of storage question

ok thanks for the tips.... can't wait to get to use that amp with a bit of volume again.... what a beast!
