Have you thought about using a Duncan Distortion? I jump back and forth between a JB and Distortion allot. The sound very similar to me with the distortion have a little more sustain/harmonics/growl. IMO. It may give u a little added pickup aggression without being as sharp as the 81. Maybe JB rhythm and Distortion on lead work. Just a thought, since you are experimenting. I do like the remix.

I've actually found the DD to be way too harsh and aggressive for my tastes.

The 81's been treating me perfectly \m/.
