5150II Clip

Re: 5150II Clip

I've always enjoyed your clips a lot for the style and technique and skills you have but I've never been a huge fan of the tone you got from your previous 5150s compared to your JSX and old Mesa clips.

But this clip had the best tone I have heard from a 5150 from a person who didnt not go into a pro recording studio to record it. Keep this one man.

Re: 5150II Clip

It sounds great man.

I love these amps, they get so clear and toneful once you get around 5 on the volume, if it isn't getting tight enough turn it up to around 8 or so. Below 5 they can get a bit buzzy though.

Wooooah... I do band practices with this sucker on 3, and the thing doesn't even get loud.

The jam yesterday went... my god... I've never played with a better drummer, and I couldn't believe how IMMEDIATE the connection was. Great vibes going on, and hands down the best drummer I've ever played with. He's not a deathmetal drummer, but I'm not going to be doing deathmetal, so it's perfect. He's been in drumline for four years, has played to a click since he started playing on a drumkit, hits harder than hell and knows when to do it or back off a bit.

And seriously... this amp owns me. It's like a 5150 that's cleaner and less honky. So godly! I can't believe I used to bash it.

I'm reamping right now, I'll post a clip when I'm done.

Re: 5150II Clip

Always good to to hear about a solid band member hookup. Hard to come by, I hope it works out for you. Also, glad to hear about your happiness with the 5150 II - I just got done jamming for 2 1/2 hours and I am finding so many cool tones, I'm all over the place with this thing. I couldn't be happier, this thing is so punchy and clear. I don't know what the hell I would do with it on 5, that's pretty loud, man!! If I can talk myself into programming some drums, I'll put together a clip. Looking forward to hearing yours.

Yeah, those sort of connections between players make the sorting process worthwhile. He's probably off somewhere saying "man, I met this great guitar player yesterday."

Very tidy rhythm playing VK, and that's what makes the world go around.

Cheers.....................wahwah
