Thanx ,i think this is the best tone you posted here or what i heard from your homepage.
It is real amazingly close to my "perfect tone"imagination.i nedd hust more growl and an organic tone. But the eq is the perfect mixing for my ears.

Re: 5150ii

Definately digging this... you missed the 5150, didn't ya?

I feel the same way. The Recto isn't quite cutting it anymore :(.

Re: 5150ii

****ING HAILS DRUCIFIER....
AWESOME tone... how much did you crakned it on the pre and post gain knobs?
i use my pre on 4, or 5. and the post on 3 or 4.
at home levels. ahahah my BEDROOM.
but, it is a 5150 I.
another question.. can you make it again, not the entire clip, just a little 3 riff clip, without bass or drums... but with more bass this time and a little bit more middles?
i want to hear how thick your 5150II can get
and.. the third question.. do you have a backing track for... Let me see...No , nevermind. ahaahahahah
****ing Hails and excellent clip

Re: 5150ii

That sounds pretty good. Nice and full bodied. Most 5150 clips I hear are all low end chug and high end. I dig the tone.

I also checked out your other amp clips. Gotta say, the Fireball, Mark III and Laney GH 50L sounded sweet too.

Re: 5150ii

I don't remember what my settings were for the first part (except pre, which was on 10), but the faster part was something like: bass 5, mids 3.5-4, treble same, presence 5, res 5. Give or take.

DSS, it is a sickness. I've come to terms with the fact that I have it. The sooner you do the same, the less time you waste between amps :D

WFD, I think I'll give that song a shot!

Heh... for me, it's not quite a sickness. The only attainable (financially) amps I like are Recto's and 5150's, with an occaisionally JSX or XXX.

I sold my 5150 because the cleans were breaking up (on low gain with PAF's), it had some hiss and intermittant popping/noise, presence control never working, grill plate had to be re-grilled on... just gelt cheap. I am sure that this is all because I bought it used from a Guitar Center, not because it's a bad amp. I've realized that 5150's have my favorite lead tone, and tied for 1st with my favorite rhythm tone, while the Recto is only tied for 1st (w/ the 5150) for rhythm, but the lead tones abso-****ing-lutely blow. That, and for my playing style, the 5150's mids and response just suits me way better.

I'd love to own both, and eventually will break down and get another Recto (or Mesa, possibly MKIV or III), but for right now, the 5150 is just perfect for me. I should have replaced it with a working 5150, in hindsight, but it was good to try out the Recto.

Re: 5150ii

Perfect clean... would like the dirty with less gain, less bass and a bit more treble.
For the application, it's spot on. Your playing is very focused... I'd like to strive to be able to play as tightly as that.
Thanks for the clip :)
