'57 classics are impressing me!

Well ive just been stuffing around with recording a big comparing my new stock 137 to my jackson with JB's in bridge and neck(JBJr), and the 57 classics actually sound really great! I mean it might be the guitar itself, no doubt in fact, but ive been playing it on a pretty heavy distorted setting of my pod and its sounded really fat! When i get something proper recorded ill post it.

But im considering an eventual swap for perhaps something like a pearly gates bridge....im after a nice crunchy pickup in the bridge that can do a lot of things like your more jazzy/latin/funky stuff, so not something for heavy distortions. Think ozomatli's guitar tone, if that helps.

But this thread is about how im liking the 57 classics, so dont feel obliged to comment on the retrofit possibilities ;)

I like the 57's in my ES-135 too. I especially like them on clean settings....they're very full.

How do you find the bridge pickup for cleans and what do you use it for?
