57 classics with alnico 5

Has anyone tried the 57s with an alnico 5? I have Duncan's in all my my guitars but I was thinking about leaving the stock ones in one of my SGs. It's a cheap fix and if I don't like it then I'm not out of much money. I'm just a fan of alnico 5 mags in my JB, Jazz and WLH pickups. I've even thought about a uoa5 for the neck. What do y'all think?

I say they are overpriced (IMHO) so you can probably get good money for them and then get the SD pickup you actually want :)

I tried 4-5 different sets in my SG, and the stock 57s were the worst. Though that could be b/c of the circuit board more than the pickups. WLH I think were my favorites in there. If you love the guitar then probably just sell off the 57s and buy something you like. Most likely you will make a profit.

I love 57 Classics, but I also love A2 magnets. I'd wager the A5 is not going to respect that wind very much. I'd sooner spring for a new set of 59s.
