57classic neck with 500T? or any suggeestion?

I currently own a Gisbon Les paul custom shop classic premium plus . It installed 57 classic in both the neck and bridge position. However I found that the higher E strings sound bright (thing).

I am just wonder if the combination of 57 classic with 500T would be good.
anyway , welcome to suggest any other bridge pickup with my 57 classic neck

thank you all.

Re: 57classic neck with 500T? or any suggeestion?

I like the '57 in the neck, but only with an A5 magnet in it. It's a little dark with the stock magnet (A2), and that makes the bridge seem brighter than it is. For a hot bridge PU, the 500T is pretty good, has more character than most ceramics. However, some of us prefer alnicos for the more natutral tones they give.

What I would do in your position is put an A5 in the neck (for better clarity) and an A4 or A8 in the bridge, for more mids and less treble. You may get just what you want for a very small cost. My motto is "Work with what you have" before for anyone starts throwing money around. Lots of guys don't heed this advice, and spend a bundle & still don't have the tones they want.

We need to know what kind of music you're playing. If you're a metal maniac, '57's aren't going to cut it with any magnets. If you're into rock & blues, they're a very good set. At most you might want a hotter bridge PU, like a C5 or 498T, but first you should see if your PU's can be tweaked to your liking. Take it in steps.

The '57 Classics are good p'ups, just change the magnets on that set.

Put an A5 in the neck p'up and an A8 in the bridge p'up and you'll be golden.

I just want to add some more power to the bridge pickup and make it less thin.

does any one know if the 57classic match the 500t
Also. would an A2 neck pickup match a ceremic pickup on the bridge.

ON the other hand, would a57 classic neck match a super distortion on the bridge?

I've got a 57 classic neck with Duncan Custom in bridge. Great combo.
The Custom is a bit less aggressive than a 500T though.

+1. That's the best solution, and it doesn't cost much.

but remember that the 500t has oversized ceramim magnets. So, the A8 won't fit unless he also takes all 3 ceramic mags and puts spacers where the side magnets used to be.

He needs to swap mags in his '57's before he starts buying more PU's, which is what Kojak & I are saying, not swap mags in a 500T, which he doesn't seem to own at this point.

Do what you can to keep the 57's. Ceramic magnets are good for sticking pictures onto the refrigerator not for blending with Alnico.

+1. Nothing's going to fall if it's being held on the fridge with a ceramic.
