59,alnico 2 pro,pg,or jazz?

I'm going to be getting a new USA Custom guitar and I want to know what neck pup I should I get. Here are the specs:
Honduran mohagany dinky s body
hipshot hardtail bridge
two push/pull 500k volume pots to split each pup
3 way toggle switch
padauk neck (which warmoth says is similar to maple)
ebony fretboard
25 1/2" scale
3 + 3 tilt back headstock
DD bridge pup
I want a nice warm bell like tone.

You said you want a nice warm bell like tone? It sounds like you just described the alnico II pro to a "T". Thats the one you want for that tone!!!!!

Theodie, I was kind of leaning towards either a2p or jazz myself. More opinions welcome.

The jazz is a great pick also but, its not as warm as the APH. The aph is warm, sweet, has a bell like top end, and is almost as good as the jazz if not as good for lead stuff. I think it has a touch more personality than the Jazz, though I love both.

The Alnico II Pro is the warmest pickup I've ever played. It has a nice glassy bell like tone as well.

I voted AP2. Not because I think it's better than the Jazz, but from what you described, it seems like it would suite you perfectly. Good Luck!

The jazz is brighter and glassier, has more bass and treble. AIIP is warmer, smoother, and has more mids.

I think this thread just convinced ME to get an alnico 2 pro

I was gonna go for a custom in the bridge and a paf pro or joe in the neck, but the way the a2p is being described here sounds like exactly what I want, and duncan has the nice return policy to take away some of the stress. It got AWESOME reviews on harmony-central too. Every single one said it was sweet sounding and not too harsh. Custom and a2p here I come!

Alnico 2 Pro. I have one in my Les Paul and love it!!! Its the sweetest sounding pickup for the neck position IMO. And versatile too!!! Does everything from Jazz to raw rock and roll!! And it does everything with aplomb - no harshness or grittiness here.

In my experience, the APH has less of a high mid presence than the Seth, which makes it sound warmer. I think that the APH is just really well balanced overall. :burnout:

The Jazz is amazing!!!!! its the best neck pickup i`ve ever had. I had the Ap2 before which is real nice but i like the Jazz better!!!!

question: does the a2p match up better with a custom custom then a custom? I noticed the cc has an a2 magnet as well and is supposed to sound warmer so I'm wondering if the ceramic magnet of the custom wouldn't just clash with the a2p. I'm asking because I'll have to special order the cc I think.

I definitely leaning seriously towards the a2p. How long would it take black rose to get me a gold covered a2p neck and how much would it run?

i have only seen the a2p uncovered, i am sure it can be covered, but it may take something like 6-8 weeks. call blackrose
