59 Bridge, Pearly neck for Les Paul

Re: 59 Bridge, Pearly neck for Les Paul

the pearlyB too low output?! strange. I use a '59B in the neck, and my pearlyB a2 is still MUCH hotter than my 59! its almost as hot as a JB, though with less DC's. 8.x something K if I'm not mistaken. but I love the tone to death.

I just installed a 59B in the bridge and a pearlyN in the neck. I like the 59B. is less rude, less agressive, but its clear, articulate, TIGHT, it packs a punch, but its broad and dynamic.

the pearly is a bit too soft and week, too clear. the 59B in the neck is better for me I think.

anyway... I like these pickups! :D

The 59b in the neck is a great choice. Depending on woods and personal taste, sometimes an A4 or UOA5 can make an improvement.

PGn / 59b has sop much win in an LP it need not be discussed.

I like the pg-n but the 59b in the neck is better. it just sings! I love the 59B and the pearlyB. maybe I have to 'warm up' to the pearlyN.

They're both such great pups, it's hard to say which is better. The Demon is also great. I love each of them and have them in two different guitars.

I did the install and the Pearly Gates neck is superb in the Les Paul. It reduced the boominess on the low end. Generally, speaking it appears to be more versatile and complimentary to playing with both pickups. The '59 Bridge has ok response and mixes well with the neck, a crispiness on the high end. I'd really be extatic if this maybe had a bit more oomph, maybe go to 11 or 12 on the knob.

Try the Custom 5/PGn. I think that's what you're looking for.

IMO, it's one of the most sure fire sets for rock. It's really hard not to like the C5/PG.

Throw an EQ pedal in front of the amp and set it up to boost the signal a tad,, you will be surprised what either the PGb or 59B will do then.

After futher review, I have a Pearly Gates set in the Les Paul Standard. I love the '59 but in this particular LP the PG bridge clearly has what I was seeking. Bright yes, but I can roll off the tone pot a bit. This PG set really has alot of sounds buiried in it. Very pleased. thanks for the advise

No just the stock PG set is fine for this instrument.
