59/Jazz combo or Saturday Night Special for HH Strat?

What would you recommend for a HH Strat with an alder body and rosewood neck, going for classic/indie rock/Who-like bell tones? Most of the time I play clean-edge of breakup, and definitely don't use high gain. Acoustically the guitar has the sound - but the Entwistle HV58's that are in there now are great but too muffled on ringing chords (but great for single notes).

Would you recommend the new Saturday Night Specials, a pair of 59s, or the 59b/Jazz neck - or anything else?

P.S. I have read the forum and this is hardly the first time this question has been asked, but I haven't seen anyone talk about the new Saturday Night Special in a HH Strat yet.

Saturday night specials sound like a great idea! I bet they'd work for what you play. Clear but kind of vintage. Not too hot of a bridge if you want to get a little ratty. Sounds good.

My experience using A4's, especially in the neck, makes me think that any pickup Duncan designed around it, would work just fine.

Who here has Saturday Night Specials and how do they sound? What differentiates them from like Whole Lotta Humbuckers. Not much on the interweb about them.

I have an Alder strat, Rosewood fretboard with a 59/JB combination and it sounds excellent. Warmoth tobacco sunburst with a Fender Strat speed neck.

The most underrated Duncan pickup is the Jazz Bridge. It actually sounds great in an alder/rosewood strat, from clean to high gain.

Duncan kinda sabotaged the Jazz Bridge by constantly pairing the Jazz Neck with other models, rather than pushing the Jazz set.
Also, the name Jazz scares non jazz guitarists.
