uOpt Something Cool Jun 27, 2014 #21 Re: 59 vs jazz for metal The 59 neck is much better as a high gain solo pickup since it makes all that pinch and screech and ping much easier. It can be very boomy for full chords clean in a hardtail on the other hand.
