I'm moving pickups around. Switching my guitars up to keep things interesting. I've decided to go for a JB in the bridge of my Gibson. Wonder what would be a nice pairing for it.
  • I know the '59 and the JB pair well. I like that pairing for the most part. I do wish the '59 was a bit hotter and rounder for that pairing, but that doesn't really stop me from enjoying it.
  • I know I like the SH-6N, but I've only paired it with hotter hums in the bridge. Not sure if it would be too much for the JB. Think it would work out?
Opinions welcome! Thank you!

DDn is a great pickup, not exactly round sounding but much tighter than the 59n.
You can always set it low in the ring to balance better with your JB,
SH-1n is a lot more nuanced but either one is capable of great neck lead tones.

I've never tried A6 in a 59n but an A6 mag swap could make it warmer and a bit hotter.

I am debating myself the same question, probably I will try some time this week and let you know. But from my previous experience with the Distortion Set I can tell you the DDn is not a versatile one, I may need to try it in split mode, but probably you already know that.

I decided to go for the DDn. They balance out well, no problem.

Yeah, the '59 is probably the more versatile of the two. The DDn probably splits better, though.

the ddn is a great pup, dont love the clean sounds, but love the overdriven solo tones
