Well, the sound of melodic deathmetal was basically crafted on this amp, so if you're into that kind of stuff, it doesn't get much better

I loved my 5150 until the amp blew up. That's when I started playing Marshalls. For the high gain stuff, I think it's tough to beat a 5150.
My favorite personal setup of all time was using the 5150 as a pre-amp. I'd sent the preamp out to the efx return of a modded JCM 800. Now that was fat, heavy tone.

Van Halen was doing a show somewhere in Arizona and Eddie got a call from Peavey saying that they just dropped him. Eddie got pissed and smashed all of his Peavey guitars & amps on the stage. (That would've been a pretty good show to see.) And now he's back with Charvel guitars and I think he's also back with Marshall amps. Charvel is endorsing Eddie and Marshall currently aren't. And that's, the rest of the story.
