7 string Iceman

I have a hard enough time with 6 strings, but that thing is bad-ass. Iceman's are cool. Flat Black suits it well.

P.S. Oddly, it doesn't appear that they even make the 6-string version anymore. Seems odd.

This must be the first year in a long time Ibanez hasn't offered some series of Iceman as a 6 string. Even considering its history, it seems to be regarded these days as a metal players guitar.

It definitely has the "metal" look. But it also sits in your lap nicely. Mine has Dream 90's in it. Definitely not metal. But sweet.

I still really wish they''d done the HR Giger iceman in a floyded version too. That would have been an all-time favorite for my collection.

An iconic design, for sure; the first Ibanez to have the duckbill headstock! Don't know if they've offered a 7 string version before.

I always thought J Yuenger's sig from the 90s was cool, simply because of the outrageous finish. Also one of the very few that have had a locking trem (Lo Pro here).

I wish I had not opened this thread the GAS is strong with this one.

I love the Iceman I have and this new one would be a great addition if i get so inclined.

Cool guitar, gotta sound massive!

Yeah just the PS120 these days, which at least is a solid guitar, the 60's were kind of trashy and not in a good way. They just had a 520 out for a bit in tobacco burst that was really nice.

Shame they always get branded a metal guitar since Steve Miller, Tom Petty and Mike Campbell were big users early on. I have a deep love for Icey's, these days I have an '81 IC50BK but I've owned 1/2 dozen or so over the years.

Flat black is seems to be a thing again with Ibanez, even Steve Vai's Pia for 2021 comes in it; the Iron Label series are meant to be the metallish sounding/looking, so any shade of black is a given. Interesting that the Iceman has a concave contour à la Tosin Abasi's Larada guitars.

The originals are pretty sweet. Also helps if you have a 200w Marshall Major to play them through.

Yeah the Iceman has more of a metal following now but back in the day, you had the likes of Steve Miller and Mike Campbell playing them. I wouldnt even put Paul Stanley in the metal cat, more hard rock cat. I love the design of them, kinda of Ibanez said, hmmmm how can we make a LP more interesting to look like.

That sure is beautiful! I’ve always been an iceman fan. Never owned one though. And 7 strings is too many, but it looks great!
