I have a Schecter A-7 Diamond Series 7-string. Mohogany body, bolt-on maple neck with Roswood Fretboard.
I also have a Washburn WG587 7-string. Alder body, bolt-on maple neck with Rosweood Fretboard.
I play mostly Metal but often dive into many other styles of music. Mostly clean type work.
In the Schecter I currently have a JB/Jazz Bridge/Neck combo. I love the Jazz but the JB is just too bright for me.
I like the description of the Custom and the Distortion. But how are the cleans? Does the Distortion have a good clean sound? Which would be better?
I am looking for the typical articulation, good chunk, warmth, etc...
Then with the Alder body? Suggestions? Would the JB work well in there? Or should I stick with a Custom or DIstortion as well?
Interestingly the Tone Wizard doesn't suggest a Jazz for the Neck with an Alder body. It suggests a Distortion or a '59. How are those? Anyone using a Jazz in the neck with an Alder body?
Thanks for your help.
EDIT: The JB is "bright" meaning a lot of upper mids. Not necessarily treble.
