7 string suggestions

Hey all. I'm looking at getting a new 7 string guitar.

I play metal but like to get all types of different sounds not just high gain and crystal clean.

Budget is $2,000+/-

I'd like your suggestions.

Nice budget,

If you go used you will be able to get something incredible for those dollars.

Just to get it rolling, if signature models aren't a problem, get a MusicMan John Petrucci 7.

I've tried the 6 and it's one hell of a guitar. Excellent trem, the notch position sounds great and it's ergonomically brilliant.

I looked around online for a used Regius Pro 7 with no luck. We'll see...

I actually have a JP6 2007 LE (great guitar) and one of the 7s I was looking at was actually the Majesty. Funny thing is that John was my guitar teacher in the early 90s and I got to play his prototype Ibanez signature which was leopard print when he first got and was an awesome guitar.

I'd rather not get another signature but the Music Man JP is awesome and the Majesty just seems to have exactly what I want. Too many of the 7s I see have active pickups. As of now it looks like I'll go for the Majesty unless someone can come up with something better.
