Yeah, the greed factor just killed a lot of the spirit of live music. Promoters line their pockets with both money from the audience AND the pay to play from the bands.
Club owners subcontract their parking lots to parking companies, so again, the audience AND the bands get screwed out of $5-$9!!!! Then, the parking enforcement signs in neighborhoods surrounding the clubs, makes it impossible to get free parking.
Add to that the $6 plus tip for a Miller Gen Draft!!!!! When did ONE beer become the price of a 6 pack!!!???
This new XY Generation is becoming the 'you can't market to me' generation.
I think this is out of necessity. The baby boomers get ripped off.....generation X gets ripped off. Now, generation XY has had it!!!! I really think the next big scene in the late 2000's will reflect that. I'd like to say it should be fun and jovial, but I think it's going to lean more anti-corporate.
