'87 JB Single Conductor Wiring Help

Resolved: I apologize, turns out there is also a green wire buried in with the bare wire, I just needed to remove more sheathing >.> The "blue, gray, green" wire turned out to be what is the white wire on all the diagrams available. I Guess it aged and became discolored. Thank you to everyone for trying to help ;)

I have an old '87 Kramer that has/had a JB and SSL1, a while back I took them out and put them in storage and I put Blackouts in it to make it my "metal" guitar. I have decided to put the JB back in because I play this guitar a lot more and the Blackout's need to go into a different guitar. Anyway, I didn't document the wiring because I thought I would sell the JB and schematics are online, bla, bla.

However, the wires are different than in diagrams I can find.

I would note that I am color blind, but the wires appear to be red, gray, black and bare.

It has the series connection in the wrap.

So, is this old color codes? As well, it was wired as series and I assume it is single conductor, but am I able to split this with the current wires without digging into the wraps; is the gray essentially what white is now or does gray go to ground with the bare wire? Is it not gray but green? If so, that does go to ground with the bare wire and black goes on the volume lug, but now there is a red wire, where does that go?

Thanks for any assistance.

Cheers!
