A bad decision has been made

it even looks like a guitar now! good job man, it seemed like you put a lot into it and the results are great!

Thanks fellas! Appreciate it. All the input has been super helpful too.

If the headstock flies off when I feel string it back up again I might lose my mind but eh, I don't think it will :)

Been following this thread since the beginning, and holy moly it looks now. What a fantastic job! Sending many prayers for no stringing drama your way!

Who wants to place bets on whether it survives his tender mercies, or fails?
My money is on decades of happy service.

Just cut and buffed everything today. Put on the tuners and some other doo-dads.

It's really looking good. I am stoked. Pics coming later.

Now I need to figure out how to slap together a harness for this thing and wire it up.

I'm continually impressed by this process. I can imagine wiring this thing up would be like doing laparoscopic surgery. Good luck on the last mile.

Thanks folks.

Working on the wiring harness this weekend. Trying to figure out how exactly to wire up the tone swtich?

Also, do you ground it to the bridge somehow?

Ground it to the tailpiece, which is touching the strings.
As to the switch - Gretsch stuff was mysterious as hell - still is in some ways.
You'll figure it out.

I got the harness put together. Everything works as it should except I'm a bit unsure on the tone switch.

I can hear it switching from one position to the next but it's super hard to tell just doing a tap test with a screwdriver if there is a real difference from one position to the next. I don't have it installed and strung up because I am making 1000% certain this is all perfect before I weave it through there without even any F-holes for access.

This is what I'm using. I think it's right?

Wired it all up except for the ground to tailpiece. Just need to add the pickguard and string it up to see if it makes guitar sounds.

It’s looking great. Will add some pics later
