A bad decision has been made

Doubt that. If worse came to worst - you could scarf on a new peghead. No need to replace the whole neck.

It is possible that you didn't notice the pictures, so I'll give you that.

But, the peghead isn't much of a problem, it's the neck (right about at the nut where all the bondo and staples are) that's the biggest concern. Repairing that will be a whole lot of work and leave it less than esthetic. It would be easier and better in the long run to replace the neck.

i think thats a good plan. that repair is ugly as hell, but not beyond fixin. the staples are rough

If you lived nearby, you'd regret insulting me all the time.

Why? Because you'd cry in front of me and make me feel bad?

Look, if you don't know what you're doing just be a man and admit it. That bad break was on the neck, not the headstock...that's why I thought you might not have looked at the pictures (careful enough to tell).

I have 45 plus years at the bench, written over 100 articles in luthiery magazines. What kind of legacy are you leaving behind?

What good is all of that when you're wrong about something. If you had 80 years at the bench and written 500 articles you'd still be wrong about this.

I'm not wrong.

Blake, sorry that knucklehead messed up your thread.
