A Blast From My Past

Here's a YouTube clip of a gig from my distant past...well, over 10 years ago now anyway! It's from a tour I did in 1999 with a local legend here in Australia named John Farnham, to celebrate his 50th birthday. It was a fantastic tour to be on, and this show was telecast nationally and was used for a live album that sold in excess of 300,000 copies here. I played slide on this tune, including a short solo. As you can see, my dear old '68 Strat was there as always! Had to share it with my forum bros.

That was awesome, Geoff!

Man, that guy has an incredible voice. At the top of his range he reminded me of Lou Gramm ... only better!

Yeah Laz, he's just a great singer..and when he would get anywhere near you on stage, the sheer volume he was radiating would wipe out the substantial monitoring system! It was an honour to get the opportunity to work with him. An even greater honour was that he recorded a song of mine on the next studio album he released after this tour.

Very strong voice indeed! Every word he spells comes out clear and strong.
I like the bridge part after the solo and the 2. solo the most (before it gets slower). Very nice energy there!

Great !!

Very nice slidework throughout, indeed.
Yeah, John can sure belt it out.
Thanks for sharing!
