…A KRAMER ?!

Re: …A KRAMER ?!

the maple that Gibson's Asian factory is using for these is hardly top-grade-select maple that you think of being really bright. I have 2 of these and they fall into more of the middle range. also have a Pacer Vintage and it's the same way. while more a homage than anything else, the real Kramer was known to use a fair share of maple in the early years before going to ESP for their neck and bodies. so it's not really out of the ordinary for Gibson to release these as maple...even if it's the voicing of the wood is a little more even.

How are the trems on these Gibby-ramers?

Depends on the model.

Some comes with the Korean OEM Floyd and you know what you're getting there.

Some come with a Kramer-branded licensed double locking them and it is my opinion that they are crap.

And Gibsons Kramer site isn't very clear about what comes in what. On the site right now, it shows the Pacer Classic coming with "Floyd Rose[emoji769] Tremolo Bridge with Locking Nut", which is wrong. It comes with the Kramer licensed double locking trem and nut. A real FR bridge will fit (and that is what I did to mine), but the nut is different spec from a FR nut and you can't upgrade that without modifications. The pivot posts are also not to FR spec, in that the diameter is smaller so that you couldn't even upgrade to FR posts without mods.
