Re: A new batch of Equato Hollowbodies ready to go!!! - EYECANDY

The people who buy those guitars are the stupid ones, not Paul. Why would anyone in their right mind pay 10k for something worth a fraction as much.

Oh, humanity, you silly little sh*t.

absolutely. i dont fault paul for what he charges and as far as i can tell they are top class guitars but if it wasnt for trey then he wouldnt be in the cushy situation he is in.

Success comes from decisions we make, and work. Like the decision to make great guitars and the work it takes to produce them. Let's not forget that hooking up with Trey Anastasio was not only a decision that Paul made, but he worked to form the relationship.

I don't see forming relationships any differently than I see making guitars or fixing toilets - it's work, and it comes from making a decision.

If forming relationships is similar to fixing toilets for you . . . you're doing it wrong. :P

What an interesting conversation. IMHO I am sure PL's guitars are worth every penny, if you have that kind of green to part with. I imagine some are going into some pretty serious credit card debt, but for others, it's probably not much of a dent. Not that I am any type of Robin Hood or anything, but it does give me great joy to deliver a sort of "dream guitar" to those who could never otherwise afford one.

Question - Has Paul Languedoc ever said anything about your guitars? IMO, they're very close to his unique design.

I've been looking into that. I am quite ignorant when it comes to Gibson's line of guitars, but am familiar with the 335....don't they do sort of a "mini" version of that, too....same shape, etc...just a bit smaller?

That's what I have in mind.....sort of a PRS sized 335...thinline.

I am wondering if that would be worth my while?

Thoughts?

I think doing the PL styled stuff is different enough than everyone else that you should stick with it :) My point is that not everyone likes "miniature" guitars; I think the bigger sized guitars like the Gretsch hollowbodies and ES-335 semi-hollowbodies have a sound and vibe all their own that you shouldn't discount. I've seen thread after thread of your work and your attention to detail is nothing short of stunning. The prices you charge are extremely reasonable too, so props to you for making such beautiful instruments at a price musicians can actually afford!
