I bought a Hughes & Kettner Edition Blue 60 DFX like a year ago and I loved the clean channel. In fact I even used it for live gigs, clean headroom wasn't a problem. But the Lead channel was always frustrating. It was always muddy sounding, and thats what caused me to stop using this amp for gigs altogether.
Until recently that is when I accidentally discovered that in order to get a nice lead tone, blues to modern hard rock, The MASTER Volume and LEAD Channel Volume must be the same.
Maybe I'm stupid but no other amp I own with a master control was that frustrating. Well my problems are solved and the Lead channel sounds like a thicker vox ice 9 pedal. This amp sings! Just wanted to share
