that is what you are looking for the EL DIABLO , years ago i asked MJ this question about a demon with more push and a little less highs and the same thump of the demon and she said to try an EL DIABLO and i got one , and loved the hell out of it and i need to get one in zebra for another guitar it's 14.5K alinco V magnet and 5.5K resonent peak. i had it in a super strat with both male and rosewood necks and adler bodies and it was awesome

seems like thats right close between c5, full shred and jb, whats the eq curve compared to the others.

At the the moment i'm thinking cc but am worried it might have too little bass i suppose if i dont like it i could always change magnets.

Still think the dc resis is maybe a touch high.

ANDY... make an Alnico 59/Custom Hybrid... you will never look back!

Or a Demon/JB hybrid , it would allow to have two pickups without one ending with two rows of slugs , it would be hotter , have more mids and less bass than the 59/custom !!
I might try this , yummy !

I took a look at your thread, i guess one of them would be a ceramic based pickup and the other an alnico 5.

Funny thing is if ordered this from custom shop it would cost less money buying 2 pickups than ordering just one already made.

Would you recommend using the coil of the custom closest to the bridge as i would probably add a coil split and i guess it would have more turns of wire on it.

Just get a Custom Custom and a 59... you will end up with 2 Hybrids... one Alnico 2 and the other Alnico 5... then you can play with them and see what magnet you prefer and what coil you like best when split.
The Demon/JB is not one I would recommend... too many spikey mids.

Demon/JB would be a little shrill -- unless you pop an Alnico 8 in it, the elixir for all things shrill...

Oh by the way Zang made me think ; alnico 8 in the Demon and setting it close to the string , and you could have a better Demon , I have one .
