you can throw in A3 if you like.

which one has more lower mids and less upper mids?

Edit: all other things kept equal.

I like A2's in a single coil pickup for the sweet mids , the A5's sounds to bright and glassy to me .

I don’t know about that. Aren’t A5 mags generally mid scooped, thus having less mids? To me then, they should have less mids than an A2 mag, which is a more mid heavy, sweeter sounding magnet. Yes, the wind has a big influence, but just strictly talking about mags, I would say A5 has less upper mids. Maybe I’m wrong. Someone please tell me if I am.

a5 is usually scooped, yes, so less mids all around. a3 usually has more upper mids to my ears, a2 has more low mid compared to a3 and more mids all around compared to a5. should have been more clear in my answer. the wind has a lot to do with it though

thank you guys.
i get what your saying so the wind seems to be the bigger factor.
one could also argue that a5 has the same amount of mids than A2 but just more bass and treble so the mids are less dominat. so it’s all relative...

i read somewhere that the 50s A5 magnets alloy comp. where less harsh on the upper mids, hence the question
