Bummer, with a tone pot or going with a 250k pot the Cats start sounding too soft to me.
I can live with the neck but the bridge with an A2 sucks, it's just too damn bright and underwound.
i really like the a2 cat bridge, its the a2 cat neck that i find overly thick. do you have separate controls for both pups? if so, i might try a5 or a8 mags in the bridge with 250k pots and a4 or a5 mags with 500k pots for the neck

Right now, a 500k volume pot and 3-way blade, didn't care for the tone pot or the 250k pots.
I find the A2's smooth and articulate. But the A2's lacks some ass and or needs the top end tamed without sounding dull or bland.
A8 is less inductive because it contains less iron but has normally more magnetic strenght than A2. Should therefore make a pickup sound brighter, all other parms being equal. Now experimenting is not forbidden and empirical findings often relativize theory, depending on the player and his actual gear + signal chain.
